Majority of the people I know includes this place to their dream destinations. I am one of them before.

But after making it possible, can’t imagine that Santorini have so much things to offer more than the famous caldera view.

This place is simply amazing.

From the cave houses in the caldera, the breath-taking sunsets, nice people, wonderful food and the once in a lifetime adventure that this place can offer.

Definitely I want to visit this place again.

Thank you, Santorini!

This is Netherlands!

Visited Europe for the first time and we started the 18-day trip with this lovely country The Netherlands also known as Holland.

One of the few places I can see myself moving someday.

We had a few stops to explore this one-of-a-kind country from the city of Amsterdam, Keukenhouf in Lisse, the windmills in Zaanse Schans, the peaceful seaside village of Volendam and the countryside of Marken.

2015 has been a very good year for me.

Wonderful things happened that even in my wildest dreams I never expected that it will be happening to myself.

Definitely one of my most memorable events of 2015 was the unveiling of Apple’s World Gallery for iPhone6 where I became part of this very special campaign of the tech giant.

It was an overwhelming experience. The intensity of the campaign didn’t hit me until everything were finally out in the open.

Let me share a bit of this crazy adventure for the sake of remembering a major milestone in my life this 2015.

The Apple World Gallery Book- a special surprise from Apple

It was 23rd December 2014 when I first received an out of nowhere email via Flickr from a Filipino sounding name guy who introduced himself as a researcher for a mobile photography project whom he is currently doing and he said he is from Singapore and he left his details for me to get back to him if I am really interested.

The email gave me an impression that he might be from a local photography club that might be doing a local exhibit in the near future and maybe they just want me to pass some photos of mine to be featured.  I contacted him and he told me that he is a Filipino too. He started everything by asking again if I am really using an iPhone6 and of course I said yes. So he started discussing things about the project without revealing much of it.

Eventually after signing a non-disclosure agreement it was revealed that this is actually an Apple Project for iPhone6. I even asked how they managed to find me and he told me that thru my hashtags on Instagram they were able to find my Myanmar photos and the  actually the team from Los Angeles was the one responsible and instructed the local team here to find me.

Things rolled out quickly. I was asked to passed all my raw non-edited photos shot using iPhone6 and after weeks of deliberation I was lucky enough to be able to secure 2 photos for the project without knowing where they will going to use my photos. Eventhough also I already signed photo release contracts with them, the team I am working with still kept on reminding me that all things are not yet hundred percent confirm and nothing is certain until i see my photo on the final line-up.

Because of certain aspects of the project, I am not allowed to share this exciting news to anyone. I am just celebrating quietly while hoping that I will be chosen.

Weeks passed and I never received any single news from the team.

I was counting the days anticipating and praying that the day will come I will be receiving a very good news.

It came to a point that I almost gave up on my dream. I tried convincing myself that I am already lucky to be considered and this is  Apple and company whom I am looking up to since the i begun wanting an iPod.

It was 27th February 2015 when I received the call that changed my year and it was a week before I celebrate my 31st birthday.

THE UNVEILING- Seeing my photo on a huge billboard in Singapore

The team greeted me with so much enthusiasm and excitement informing me that I am one of the lucky photographers chosen to be part of the World Gallery.

They immediately informed me about my huge photo will be up at Singapore’s largest billboard in the island located at The Verge Shopping Center near Rochor area from 2nd of March 2015.

Everything are still so vivid to me. It seems like a dream really coming true.

I was told that the only thing confirmed was my photo on a huge billboard in Singapore. But they told me that there’s a possibility that my photo will be seen in the Apple website and also on different cities around the world like New York City and London but all were merely possibilities only.

I anticipated that day so much. The day that will be part of my history books as one of the best days of my life.

2nd of March came and upon waking up I was greeted by seeing my photo posted in the online gallery at the Apple Website. I can still remember the adrenaline rush of that exciting moment.

Around lunch time, the team brought me where my huge billboard was located. It was just so surreal that all these things were happening on the same day.

Later that day, I am in total awe when I saw my photo listed as one of the incredible photos taken by iPhone thru the Time Magazine website with my full name on it.

featured in Time Magazine website

It was really an incredible journey for me. Eventually things turned out that this project i

was indeed and literally a World Gallery. As day goes by, friends and online acquiantances were informing me about different sightings of my photo all around the world.

Thank You, Apple & TBWA especially to Juanne, Priscilla and Reggie for choosing me not just once but twice to be on this award-winning campaign. It paved way for me to open my door to opportunities and most of all to believe in myself that I can take beautiful photos with the help of a very powerful tool like iPhone6.

Part of Apple World Gallery #ShotOniPhone6    This place is simply paradise. A must-visit destination in the Philippines.

It is the northernmost province of the Philippines and is also the smallest province, both in terms of population and land area.

The provincial capital is Basco on Batan Island. Only 100 nautical miles from Taiwan.                      A 2-hour domestic flight from Manila via Philippine Airlines.

25-minute boat ride to cross from Batan Island to Sabtang Island.

The islands have limited internet access and the place is so peaceful that will help you de-stress and be one with nature.

The amazing landscape views are one-of-a-kind that makes me appreciate life more.

Special love for Koh Tao Island

How to get there:

Bus to KL from Singapore (7 hours),
Take plane from KL to Surat Thai, Thailand (2 hours),

Bus ride from Surat Thani Airport to Dor Sak Pier (1.5 hours),

Dor Sak Pier to Koh Tao by high-speed ferry (3 Hours) but if you have more time and less budget you can take the slower sleeper overnight ferry. (9 hours)

But all I can say is it’s all worth it.

This is Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is the largest and most culturally significant city in northern Thailand. It is the capital of Chiang Mai Province, a former capital of the Kingdom of Lanna.

Chiang Mai has positioned itself to become a Creative City, and is considering applying for Creative City status with UNESCO. Chiang Mai is one of two tourist destinations in Thailand on TripAdvisor’s list of “25 Best Destinations in the World”, where it stands at number 24.

This CNX trip of mine was almost went to scratch during my planning stage. Because of my Myanmar trip which I am sure will be a bit of struggle because of the 3 overnight buses rides in a span of 5 days I almost decided not to do this trip. My work remaining vacation leave also became my main consideration in the end but luckily everything falls in a proper place.

I have heard so many good words about Northern Thailand especially that I have chosen a festive timing for Loy Krathong and Yee Peng. I am so excited for this final leg of my trip because of the Elephant Camp visit which I only came across online and the marvelous bucket list event of Yee Peng 10,000 lanterns in Mae Jo University.

I am just so thankful that I found all the exact details of this trip to go along with my plans. Almost four months before the event, because of the confidentiality there were some write up online saying that the main day will be on the 6th November but because of being too excited for this trip I came across a local travel agency selling tickets for the Yee Peng Lanna International on the 8th November. Based on my original schedule, I will no longer be in Chiang Mai that said date but luckily all things come together before I booked my flights in and out of Thailand.

The Elephant Nature Park is somehow the heart of my trip. it was a nice break to appreciate life and humanity towards everything around us. Seeing all those rescued elephants and dogs running freely far from human abuse. This is the only place in Chiang Mai where they don’t let tourists to ride on elephants back nor do a show. The activities are more on learning them and interacting with them.

Given a chance I want to stay longer in this lovely lush city of Chiang Mai.

a more laid back approach of city life.

This is Myanmar

Myanmar -Officially called Republic Union of Myanmar or more popularly known as “Burma”.
This is the largest country in the South East Asia that is not an island.

A Communist country that only earlier this year they opened it’s door to Filipino tourist without needing any visa for a maximum of 14 days of stay. This is one of the less travelled country in Asia that one should not miss in their lifetime.

Many travellers consider this country as part of their dream destination because of it’s regal beauty and exotic wonders that you can’t afford to miss.

I started planning around January this year when the government announced the non-requirement of visa but I waited until November to visit because of the hot air balloons over the ancient city of Bagan during sunrise. They will be a visible morning fixture until March only every year.

This is definitely one of my top travels and one of the most memorable ones.
People are using US Dollars and Kyats as their monetary unit. 1 USD is to 1,000 kyats. Almost the same.

Described by Lonely Planet Travel Guides as
“Unrivalled luxury, stunning white-sand beaches and an amazing underwater world make the Maldives an obvious choice for a true holiday of a lifetime.”

Booked the trip as early as March 2014 as my birthday gift for myself when I turned 30. It has been always been part of my bucket list as a wanderlust soul to visit this stunner in the middle of Indian ocean but I never expected that it will be happening this year.

Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa became our official residences during the entire trip. The place was amazing as expected. Lucky enough that we were placed in a beachfront deluxe room with a direct access patio to the beach. I can’t count how many times I silently uttered in my mind how great to have that view every morning upon opening my eyes to start my day. But of course, not all best things in life are free. Paradise is a hard work destination.

Singapore to Male will take you 4 and half hours flight and it is 3-hours behind.

We left Singapore around 10:00 am and reached Maldives at 12 noon (local time).

This trip is definitely one for the books.
