How to get there: 

Bus to KL from Singapore (7 hours), 
Take plane from KL to Surat Thai, Thailand (2 hours), 

Bus ride from Surat Thani Airport to Dor Sak Pier (1.5 hours), 

Dor Sak Pier to Koh Tao by high-speed ferry (3 Hours) but if you have more time and less budget you can take the slower sleeper overnight ferry. (9 hours)

But all I can say is it’s all worth it.
